Glacier Point and Bridaveil Falls

~ Day two, Thursday, May 29th. To see Wed's post, go here.

After a hearty breakfast in the Camp Curry cafeteria, we packed up and head out by car up to Glacier Point. Brian and his Dad were planning on hiking down Four mile trail, but when the rains started earlier in the week, it caused a rock slide and trapped hikers that had to be air lifted out. So we all just puttered around, taking in the glorious views and letting Dyllan play in some snow since we were so high up! 7,214 ft!

~ Mommy and Dyllan stopping for a snack.
~ This little guy wanted some of Dyllan's goldfishies!
~ Down, down, down below Dyllan, lies Camp Curry. And in the older days, they used to set off the Fire Falls off Glacier Point for the camp goers of Curry Village nightly during summer hours.

~ On the way down from Glacier Point, we stopped off at
Bridaveil Falls. The falls are 620 ft tall and flows year around.

~ Dyllan took this photo of the 3 of us with his little camera!
So here we are going into the tunnel from the other side...
~ Inside the tunnel with the windows up and vents closed since the car fumes are kinda thick.
~Coming out to see the view of Yosemite Falls...
~ Here they are near the tunnel opening adding rock steps to be part of a new hiking trail.
~ Chilly in the cabin, I think Dyllan looks so cute in the red hat!
~ All tuckered out!
~ Twilight is quite possibly my favorite time of the night, any night.
~ Brian and his Dad made a midnight run back to Bridaveil falls for some night shots.
Here's one of them.
Please check back for Friday's photo's which show what I did with my day off, and Saturdays fun at the Sugar Pine Express!

Things with Wings ATC

Wow, four posts for the work of one. What a deal for you and Me!
~ Please welcome the newest addition to my "Crown" models group, but none other that Kewpie! She is 9" hight and I found her on e-bay for $2! She's quite the cutie!

~ I realized that I never showed off a lovely doll I per chance happened to win from a favorite artist! This was made by Colleen Moody.

You might recognize her from
Stampington's Art Doll Quarterly

The following ATC's were made for a Fiskateers swap called, "Things with Wings"

~ I made some with birds.
This one I kept for Me.

I also used up some Faerie stickers for these.

~ While were gone for a week at Yosemite, the people behind us moved out and we got new neighbors. I made this New Home mini book for them!

~ Ok, that's it for now!

The following pictures show you the "making" of my Theater...
Please click on any photo for yummy close up details!
I won this cage and bird at Brian's Holiday work party last year.
I carefully removed a front piece and sponge painted it with silver paint.
This inside card divider image was taken from a art book I borrowed from the library. Please click on it for a close up to see the subtle detail I added to the little chandeliers...
Per chance while browsing the clearance books at a local book store, I found a
I glittered up every one's costumes and even hand sewed material and trim to make up Marie's dress! I colored her hair in with a fabric marking pencil .
I made the chandelier from 2 felt ornaments that I got from a $1 bin a Michaels Craft store.

The back of the Theater shows a place behind the curtain for Marie to rest.
Those are her children waiting to enjoy tea and pastries near the fire place.
All the paper dolls are mounted to a single magnet, so they may be moved around.

~ I did not permanently adhere anything in place as I now have a place to show off future paper doll art for any festive occasion!
Hope you enjoyed "The Dance"!
