Designer Crafts Challenge - My Favorite Crafting Technique!

For the month of August we were asked to share with you our favorite crafting technique and mine, hands down, is layering.
I love the dimensional look and eye popping details that layering adds to any craft.
Here, I used a stamp by Holly Berry House.
I love their medallion designs, all are meant to be layered. :)
Usually, what I do is stamp the image with good quality ink, multiple times on white card stock.
Then I determine how many layers I want and roughly cut out as many full stamped images.
4 layers were used in the above photo.
Next I used colored pencils to color the bottom image.
Then I keep coloring and cut with detail scissors the next layer and the next, adhering with foam tape to achieve maximum effect.
A super fine black sharpie is used to accent any lines of the stamped image and then I'll finish off with bling and glitter glue.
You can create the same design effect with other favorite stamps.
Think of your creation as a kaleidoscope, only it's in 3D!

But don't think you are limited to stamp/layering with just paper!
Try is on canvas, fabric, or with clear package packaging and alcohol inks and stained glass paint!
Julie McGuffee is posting a giveaway on her blog, 5 fantastic craft punches!
For a chance to win, you'll need to visit each of the blogs participating and when you land back at Julie's blog, just leave a comment about which technique is your favorite and which project you liked best.

The designer with the most votes will also win something. :)
The winner will be decided by a random drawing and announced on August 15th!
Happy Blog hopping and good luck!
