My project I made is a Sea Shell memory box. I live in California, just 10 minutes from the ocean. We visit all year, especially in the fall, when the air is cooler. I love to find unique sea shells and bits of sea glass. I thought it would be fun to make a box to hold them along with a snap shot mini-book for photos and wandering thoughts.
I cut a egg carton to fit inside a sturdy cigar box. Then I spray painted it blue and and added some gold leaf high lights. This sits snug inside the box with the mini book on top.
The circle design on the out side of the box and inside the lid was done with the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect. This is a amazing tool! I used to grab bowls and cups from the kitchen to do this. Not anymore. I secured my mulberry paper in place with tape. Then I positioned the Layer Perfect tool onto the corner of my paper. I secured the corner with my paper piercer tool and a sharpened pencil into the hole at the 3" mark.
Holding the paper piercer  tool steady at the corner, I swung the pencil out, drawing a perfect arc on the paper.
I did this 4 times. Then I cut out, and moistened the mulberry paper with a little water and began to gently tear away along the trace line. Makes for nice detail on any project!
Next, with the   Kool Tak™ Clear Foam tape ¼ x ¼ x 1/32” thick and Kool Tak™ 1 Shiny Transfer Foil Sheets (Earth Tones) I created the copper like accents you see on and in the box. The foil transfers come in a package of 5 colors. 2 foil sheets of each color. Copper, Brown, Cream, Black and White.
I peeled off the backing off the first row of clear foam squares. Then I placed the copper foil on the row and burnished with bone folder. Your finger will work just as well, but the bone folder gets in the grooves of the squares for the look I wanted.
Then I cut the squares apart to make for easier removal and placed on my project.
I love how they look like ocean treasures!

Another great thing about the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect is how easy it makes for matting photos. I have to admit that when I first received this tool, I was a bit intimidated by it. I've never been much of a 'ruler' person. Which is why all my scrapbook mats are crooked. This tool is a joy. See in the photo above, I wanted to mat my photo onto the pumpkin colored paper, so I aligned the corner of my paper into one of the marked corners of the tool. I adhered my photo in place with Kool Tak™ Premium EXTREME (double stick tape) - The best I've used so far!
Then with a flip of the Kool Tak™ 1 Layer Perfect, I aligned the upper corner of the photo and traced with the pencil to cut out! So easy! You can make any border for photos and cards! I double matted the photos in the mini book, that's just how fun it was to use.
I used the Kool Tak™ Clear Foam tape strip to add dimension to the matted music sheet paper on and inside the box.

I hope you like my project and will be inspired to make something like this for your self. Don't forget to visit the rest of the designers and be sure to enter (  http://craftykt.com/suscribe-to-newsletter  )
