Festive Christmas "Card" Blog Hop!

School started this week, on the 7th and just before the craziness began,
we took one last family trip up to Glencoe in Northern California.
We stayed at a friends cabin in the woods which was surrounded by beautiful pine trees.
These pine trees inspired me to make this card!
I love to incorporate nature into greeting cards.

Here I cut a card from white card stock and inked the edges with red ink.
Then on a separate smaller square of white card stock,
I drizzled white tacky glue (dries clear) in a wreath like circle.
I placed little snippets of the pine tree in the glue until a wreath was formed.
Pressing down firmly as I worked.
This I set aside for the glue to dry hard and clear.
Once done, I added touches of red and iridescent glitter glues to the wreath.
I let this dry before adding the red ribbon bow, distressing the edges with red ink
and adhering to the main card. .
The reason I did the wreath on a separate piece of cardstock is because the tacky glue tends to make the paper buckle and I did not want that showing up on the inside of the card.

I made a cute matching tag from one of the leftover pine tree clippings.
I stripped some of the needles off to create a "mini" tree.
When I added the glue to the first card layer, I carefully pushed down pine needles
and held in place until they stayed flat.
After the glue had set, I decorated the mini tree with glitter glue.
I distressed the edges and was done. So easy!
