5,4,3,2,1 Things About Michelle Cummings.

Craft has being doing a series of 5,4,3,2,1 - interviewing different artist and has encouraged the rest of us to do the same on our blog , about ourselves! It's only five questions and it's been awhile since I've shared with my readers about myself, so here goes....

Here I am! :)
The new me with short hair as of July 21st, 2011 when I decided to let go of 7" of long, heavy, dead hair. Just in time for summer!

One project your are particularly proud of?
1. For a fair entry one year, I made this bracelet.
was inspired by one that belonged to my Great-Great-GrandMother.
You can read the full post here.
I remember that it took me 2 days to make, gathering supplies from my personal stash and antique flea markets.
I even macrame braided the elastic just like the original.
Even though I did not place at the Fair, I was especially proud to have made such a beautiful bracelet.

Two Mistakes You've Made in The Past.
1. Getting distracted easily. I can't begin to tell you how many new projects I've started with "good" intentions, never to be finished!
I always think I'll get to them when I'm "caught" up... :)
2. Not keeping my shop up to date.
I have things made, ready to list...but I just get lazy and then busy with other craft adventures.

Three Things That Make Your Work Unique.
1. I love using unconventional items as a base for something as I did with chicken wire and this Magical Faerie Wedding Crown.

2. I love to share my passion with others, teaching them how I created what I did, watching the joy in their faces as they "get it".
3. I'm not perfect in my crafting.
I generally sew with out ironing, pins or patterns.
When I paint, I allow mistakes because they are really not mistakes but instead, added character.

Four Tools You Love To Use.
1. My Kenmore sewing machine.
It's really old and heavy, but was built to last.
I've only just tuned it up after nearly six years, but you would not know it with my sewing enthusiasm.
2. My sketchbook.
I love to doodle, paint in it, draw, color with pencils and crayons.
3. Wire.
Anytime I'm using my hands, I'm nurturing my soul.
And I love to work with wire.
Making crowns, tiara's, Birds nest pendants, or fixing something in the garden.
4. Adhesive.
I have it all.
I love to use it not just with paper, but also with fabric, found objects, scraps and paints.
I'm a stickler to store them upside down so they are ready, always.

Five Inspirations.
1. My Studio.
Sometimes the mere act of organizing inspires me in new ways.
My Studio is a virtual Wonderland.
Mess and all.
2. Craft Friends.
People I meet at trade shows, expo's, classes, blogs, events, my organized group or online.
It's a continuous circle of inspiring each other and being inspired.
3. My Dreams.
Yes, I dream in color and I remember most of them to be dreamt again and again.
I even draw inspiration from daydreams.
4. Outside.
Anything away from the home.
A fallen leaf, beautiful billowy clouds, a painted house, people, shopping, traveling....the list goes on...
5. Pinterest.
I admit it.
I'm totally hooked.
Check out my boards and if you want to join, let me know and I'll send you a invite!

So there you have it. The 5,4,3,2,1 on Me. I hope you have enjoyed it. :)
Now it's your turn!
Share the same on your blog and then come back here with a link so I can read about you!
