The air is chilly, soup is simmering and everything smells of cinnamon and spice!
Fall and pumpkins inspired me to create these thank you cards.
I hope you enjoy my tutorial. :)
Materials needed:
- Plain white 4x6 cards.
- Paper to paint.
- Standard and iridescent watercolors.
- A paint brush.
- Metallic gel pens in red and gold.
- A fine and wide tipped black pen.
- Adhesive.
- Scissors.
- 8" of embroidery thread per pumpkin.
Once the paint is dry, you may begin drawing in your swirls with the fine pen. Fill in the entire sheet.
Next, add some random dots all over with the red gel pen. Then add random swirls over the whole sheet with the gold gel pen.
Cut pumpkin like shapes from the paper- 2"to 3" for the large and 1.5" for the small.
Edge them with the wide pen, then draw the the inside lines with the fine pen.
Paint some dark shades of brown onto some paper using the standard and iridescent watercolors.
Let dry, then cut out some pumpkin stump shapes- about 1" long.
Edge these with the wide pen.
Glue down one large and one small pumpkin to the front of your card.
Lay the thread across each pumpkin and glue down the stem as shown.
This will help hold down the thread while tying.
Flip the card upside down and proceed to tie a even bow. Trim off extra thread.
I know this sounds weird, but I'm all thumbs in tying bows and this is the only way that works for me. :)
Perfect bows every time!
Using your fine pen, write your sentiment at the bottom of the card.
If you don't like your handwriting, you can also use a rubber stamp and ink.
Thanks for coming by, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
Happy Fall!
What a great idea! I'm gonna try this!
