Quick and Easy Butterfly Card!

Recently I needed to make some quick Thank You card for friends.
This card literally from start to finish took less than 10 minutes!
 How cool is that?
The supplies are so basic, you probably have them already and if not...you should because I use them on everything!
  • Card blank
  • Fine tip permanent pen
  • Drywall mesh tape- hardware store find...great for everything!
  • Inka Gold
  • Butterfly punches and die cuts
  • The Robins Nest Diamond Dew Drops
  • Adhesive

Peel off the backing of the tape and tear off the edges. Try to make some of the edges uneven. Place on card and then repeat with some more tape and place on card. Don't try to be perfect...the more uneven...the better!

Using your finger, apply the inka gold to the mesh tape and some of the card under the mesh.

Use your favorite butterfly punches and dies on paper scraps. Here...I have an assortment of butterflies made from scrapbook paper, embossed scraps and even magazine and catalog pages. I keep them in bags handy for last minute projects like this one.

Outline the large butterfly with your pen.

Glue the large butterfly in the center of your card. Outline a smaller butterfly and place in the center of the larger one. Add a bit of glue to the center of the small butterfly and place your Diamond Dew drop.

Hand write "Thank You" on the bottom and a simple message inside.
Feel free to add a whimsical border outline with your pen to the front of the card.

Here are some other butterfly variations.

Thanks for coming by, I hope you enjoyed my card!

  1. I like your background with the drywall tape. And that's a good tip about the pre-made butterflies from scraps. I usually just throw the scraps in a drawer, but having them as shapes would help me actually use them!
