Rubber Stamp Storage Idea

For those of you wondering on how I store my rubber stamps, - I use photo starage boxes!
So cool right?

You can get them in clear or rainbow as I have here.
You can find these at most craft supply stores.

Dandelion Burst
One box contains the rubber stamps and the same color box holds the stamped design, ready to color, embellish and cut out!

Nothing but Owls
Its so nice to just grab a box, some markers and color what I need.

Sharpie Dyed Back 2 School Pencil Pouch

When it comes to Back-2-School shopping around here, we like to find items that are eye catching and cheap to make! I like to join in on the fun and decorate pouches for my own art supplies too!
To make this back 2 school pouch, you will need the following:

1.  A clean canvas pouch. I got this at a Japanese store near me called Daiso. But you can also find these at dollar stores too!

2... Assorted sharpie permanent markers in a variety of colors and tips. I found that the fluorescent colors were the most eye catching in the final outcome.

 4. 91% Isoprophyl (Rubbing) alcohol - found in the pharmacy section of Walmart or any other convenience store.
5. Travel sized spray bottle.

 6. Plastic bin.
7. Wire rack or baking sheet.

*Begin by drawing a basic repetitive pattern on both sides of the pouch.
Make sure you are in a well ventilated room or have a fan blowing on you as the pens do stink.

 * Scribble with the colors.

 * Go crazy and add lots of color, have fun with this!

*Fill in any empty spots with the brighter colors.

 * Once you have colored both sides, go outside and place the pouch on top of the rack in the bin.
* Starting in one section spray with the rubbing alcohol.
* You will see results instantly.
* When you have fully saturated and blended both sides, leave the pouch outside to air out and 'set' in the heat of the sun.
* If you have no sun, you can toss pouch in the dryer or iron to set the dye. Place pouch in a old pillow case to protect dryer and use a sheet of parchment paper when ironing to protect the iron.

Fill with your favorite School or Crafting supplies and have fun!

Lego Storage using Tilt Bins

Lego's are huge thing on our home. Not just for Dyllan but for me as well! They are fun to build, take apart, sort and build some more! But sometimes the fun is lost when you are sorting through the "big" bins looking for a mini figurine, accessory, plant life or other special piece.

So I resorted to Deflecto Tilt Bins!
They are a lifesaver! They can be mounted on the wall or stacked on a table as we did here.

The bins are interlocking, which is awesome, and tilt easily but are able to be removed as needed.
The bins also come with paper slips to categorize your bins, these slide into a slot at the front.
Deflecto Tilt Bins can be found at the following locations:
Staples
Office Depot
Walmart
Target
Sams Club
Amazon

You can see more Deflecto storage idea's on Face Book and on their blog.

So what will you store in your Deflecto Tilt Bins?

Like this mini figurine display? You can view the tutorial here. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Display with Deflecto

I love all things Halloween and bats, don't you?
In the past, I've tried hanging them in  windows with suction cups, but then they cant flutter and twirl as bats do...
It was pointless to try to hang a hook because the window structure is metal, so no help there.

Then I discovered a fantastic way to hang my bats and other decoration by way of Deflecto!
I used Sign Hangers,  some "s" hooks and fishing line.

I traced and cut bats from black cardstock and used this wet erase marker for the eyes.

The sign hangers come with a strong double stick foam square. I placed the squares on top of the window, just behind the blinds. I added the hooks and hung the bats. So easy!

 *********************************************************************************

With Halloween and other entertaining events coming up, I thought I'd get a head start on some place cards.

Also by Deflecto, these black plastic Sign Tags work really well with a Top Note die and Sizzix Big Shot! The Sign Tags come 10 to a package and are 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" each. They also come with the wet erase marker I used for the bats.
After I ran the tags through the big shot, I cut them in half- as shown.
The wet erase marker works beautifully when writing names or adding designs!
The Display Holder keeps the place cards upright on plates and tables.
Done entertaining? Use a wet cloth to clean the tags so you are ready for the next event.
You can even use them in your studio!
Flip the place cards upside down, and use them with a Versa Grip Sign Holder for storage bins!

I love how one end of the clip is 'narrow' and the other end 'wide', perfect to hold signs and tags.

So...what to do with the leftover sign tags plastic?
Decorate them with the wet erase marker, then add some strips of magnet sheet to the back with double stick tape.

Presto! A instant piece of art for the refrigerator!
Thank You for coming by.
