Home at last

~ I know these seem like a lot of photo's but they are really only a smattering of what we took in our 8 day road trip! So here is a basic run down as most of the info will be shared in a altered journal complete with scraps and touchable stuff.

~We arrived in a San Francisco on sat Nov,17th and spent all of the next day having fun. We've concluded that 1 day is enough in S.F. when you have a 3 year old boy!

Incredibly yummy lunch at Bubba Gump.

Let me tell you of this Carousel which was very beautiful. It has 2 stories where as the 2nd story spins in the opposite direction. Talk about sea sick!

Going down Lombard street, us in our beautiful suite.

The perfect shot and Dyllan pondering which $3 cupcake we will take to eat later from Kara's Cupcakes.

Drove through Garberville, the tiny hippie town where I was born.
Fave shop ~Garden of beadin. I got some crystals, a ring and that purple tea light star hanging up. (click pic for details)
We stopped of at Eureka to vist my Brothers new house, spent the night and then headed back to Whitethorn on Tuesday.

Dyllan and Uncle Walter in the goose hollow and a side shot of my Uncle's house on his 80 acre property!

Wed, we went walking with the bunch. In the course of enjoying the scenery, Dyllan doing what boys do naturally, whacking stuff with a stick, whacked a bee's nest and got stung/bit by tiny wasp's 7 times. My heart was in my stomach as I raced back to the house with him in my arms.We gave him extra benadryl and kept a close eye on him. He's ok now but is totally
freaked out by anything bee/fly related.

Morning frost. It got as cold as 37 degrees!
Their beautiful apple orchard.

Thanks Giving with the family.

Series of paper train that I made for Dyllan through out the trip. He made the 1st one except for the wheels, I made the last 2. Good thing I brought tape!

This the guest house we stayed in with my cousin Laura and her family.

Looking over the house and fields.

Chanterelle mushroom hunting on Thanksgiving morning. The hike was quite a work out to and from but well worth the trip!

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful? I brought some home to saute with garlic! Yum!

My sister in law Ginny with Gemma and ornaments I made for everyone.

Brian and Aunt Kathy, inseparable Cousins jordyn and Mckenzie

My self with my cousin Laura and brother John

Friday we spent the night in Sacramento and spent a little of Saturday at the train museum before arriving home late sat. I never envisioned a train museum so vast and to have so many amazing things to see!

Definitely considering having thanksgiving again with the family not next year but maybe the year after?, maybe by train? And to spend more time exploring old Sacramento!

My 3rd Boutique

For my table I found a a pretty lace like plastic table cloth to go over the cheap pink plastic ones I always use.
(feel free to click on any pic for detail!)

I had Scrapboxes, captured faeries, glittered Christmas trees, hair clips, magic wands, packets of custom glitter blend, Crowns, decorated votive holders, and pretty tags.
I made a custom blend of glitters and put them in a Sugar tin that regulary holds rinestones and jewels in my studio.
I had a sign in sheet for a chance to win one of my scrapboxes and displayed a working votive that I made using my glitters.
I'm holding a new crown that will be featured in my shop soon! And the gliterized christmas trees were a big hit!

This is what I won in the raffle! I'm really excited about the wine journal because it has useful tips, appetizer recipes with wine suggestions and a place to record your fave wines in the back!
*
The Boutique ran on this last Wed, from 9am-1pm. Some of the vendors were dissapointed of the lack of attendence. I admit that it was not as busy as last year, but I also took in affect that the fires have effected alot of life styles. I also noted that some of these vendors did not do any advertising of the boutique on their own.
*
Over all, I did fairly well. I sold more than I expected and aroused the interest in alot of people on what I can do in custom orders. I gave out lots of business cards and even gathered e-maill addy's for a drawing!
~The other super great thing is that I have a bunch of yummy's to upload into my shop instead of the usual one at a time as I make it -stuff.
~
My goal for my next boutique is to have things to be seen at eye level. I have to figure out how and what. Either way I'm learning and always look forward to the next one. I'm glad I only do this a few times a year otherwise one could go crazy if they did this for a living!

Paris to The Moon Costa Mesa

Last Saturday I had about 4 hours to myself.
~I started at Lakeshore Learning in Lake Forest, it's a teacher supply store. I got something for Dyllan, a Birthday gift and 2 x-mas gifts for my nieces since we be seeing them on Thanksgiving.
-
~ Then I stopped off at Trader Joes's which was near by for some Olive Oil and a snack.
-
~From there I braved the mall. I offered to pick up the brining spices from Williams and Sanoma as our contribution for Thanksgiving. I had to park in la la land since a chunk of the parking lot was roped off for a pink motor home from Life channel which was doing make overs on women and filming it too. I also did not anticipate walking so far or I would not have worn my new rocket dog sneakers with out socks. As I limped back to car, I was wondering where I parked until I remembered I had my hubby's car not mine and his seemed to blend in a sea of other silver Honda's.
-
~ After the Mall and feeling the pain of my blisters I decided that I would shop for new jeans at Walmart instead on Tuesday while Dyllan is in pre-school.
-
~ Stopped off at the market for Card Swap party food for Sunday and headed home.
-

Once I got home, I had less than 40 minutes to relax before we headed out to meet friends for Dinner at Mi Casa in Costa Mesa which just so happens to be smack dab across from my Favorite "ooh la la" store!
-

Paris To The Moon has so many new Christmas stuff in their store that I literaly circled the items 3 times just looking! It's wall to wall ,ceiling to table top off foo foo goodness! It takes your eyes a moment to adjust plus for me I had less then 20 min. to shop before dinner!

~Behind the main store is Paris Underground
It's more on the blacks, silvers, lot's of all year Halloween goodies and a whole Pirate /Mermaid section!
