1st day of School Photo Check list!

Today was the first day of 2nd grade for Dyllan!
I can't believe how big he is!
All my garden flowers wilted in this late summer heat
so we brought some mint geranium for the teacher instead and she loved it!
I created a "Photo" checklist inspired by this post.
The list is 12x12 so it will work nicely with a new album I'm creating for the school year.
I've already check off the photos I've taken today and can't wait to scrap them!
So how was your child's first day of school?

Designer Crafts Challenge - Inspirational Party Favors!

This month for the Designers Craft challenge, I decided to make these "Inspirational" party favor boxes from this Sizzix die!
I stamped some Martha Stewart acrylic flowers onto card stock and filled them in with colored pencils.
I carefully cut out each one with precision scissors and set aside.
I cut the boxes from stiff water color paper and painted them with gold and blue Glam's from Tattered Angels.
Set those to dry while I worked on the waves border.
This punch is by Fiskars and I love how easy it is to use the border guide so the waves don't get messed up!
Before I assembled the boxes, I doodled designs and sayings onto them with a fine tip black sharpie.
I adhered the first flower to the box and added the second with foam tape. I topped off each flower arrangement with a mini yellow Dew Drop from The Robins Nest.
I hope my little treat boxes make you as happy as I have been making them!

30 days of "Back to School" housework!

I was inspired by this blog post which I pinned recently on my pinterest board, to which I took inspiration from and made my own list.
Kind of like "spring cleaning" but at the end of summer.
I have actually set a dead line of September 7th - October 15th.
I will cross off the done deeds as I go and may even be able to accomplish more than one in a day.
With school starting on the 7th, this will be a good thing to help ready the home for the holidays.
Does this look like something you could do?

Hot Rods in Sutter Creek!

Today was my "off" day as part of our last trip before school starts on the 7th. So I went for a day of shopping and old mining town exploration in Sutter Creek, CA

This orange car and the green one at the bottom of this post were my favorite! I happened upon the town early enough to see these vintage beauties.

Some were parked on Main street...

And some were off on the side streets, which was fine because there was plenty of yard and barn sales to visit as I walked (shopped) about! :)

This green car was a beauty. I loved the color and the grill detail.

Thanks for coming by...see you tomorrow!
