No Sew Beaded Lanyard

School is right around the corner, so how about sprucing up your tired lanyards
so you are ready for the new year?

* As a design team member for Gwen Studios,
I am provided with product to work with each month.

Supplies used:

  • Lanyard attachment or keyring
  • Scissors
  • Small pliers
  • Clear tape
  • Lighter or candle flame

  1. Place a length of ribbon around your neck to determine about how long you want it to be, then add 5".
*(remember to take note as to what will be clipped onto the end and where you want those items to hang)...
  2. Fold ribbon in half around your key ring lanyard attachment.
  3. Tape the ends of the ribbon tightly with tape so it can thread through a bead.
*(I taped the ends together for my lanyard, but you can also tape the ends separately to mix up the bead placement.)
  4. Push the taped end through however many beads as you want.
  5. Use the pliers to easily pull the taped ends through the beads.

  6. When you think you have enough beads, add one more but don't pull it all the way.
Clip your 'work' items to your key ring or lanyard attachment and place the lanyard over your head so you can determine where you want everything to hang.
Mark the final measurement at the back of your neck with the last bead.
  7. Make a tight knot after the bead, trim and seal the edges with a open flame.

UV beads stay clear indoors and change colors in the sunlight. Super fun!
You can also use other colored pony beads and ribbons to match your class room theme or your style. :)
