If you post family photo's online, please read this!
Claudine Hellmuths current blog post summarizes what I've recently suspected!
The other day I typed in (Faerie Dust Dreams) in yahoo search.
I was pleased to see that all 9 pages were about my shop or in reference to it! But I did find a strange site.
~It was like a search engine all their own, when you typed in search words, it came up with articles re: what you typed plus pictures to match the topic. 4 of my personal art pieces that I post on my flickr account were shown there with no reference to me. I also saw what looked like family photo's. and some of children. The web site had no contact info to reached at.
This is scary and true! We have a copyright on Dyllan's personal website but what's to stop some company from taking our images from blogs, flickr and so on!?
Please go here to read how it may also affect you, and what you can do to protect your self!

Kimber at the Die Cut Station

~ About once per month I schedule a crop at Timeless Treasures through my Scrapbook Group. We always make it a Friday and for $12, we get to crop from 6pm- midnight, have enough space to crop, have unlimited use of their glorious Die Cut station and win prizes through the night!

It's fun! These pics are from a couple of crops ago, but you can see what a great selection of product the store has! Especially paper!
So on to my RAK.
I've been doing alot of de-stashing of my studio for my Craft Space Challenge.
And I'm going to give away a custom Lay Out kit to the winner. Even if you don't scrapbook, you can use the kit for cards, crowns, altered-art...just about anything!
Just post a comment here of your favorite retail or home place to craft, give us a link to the store if you have it! Just be sure I can contact you in the case that you win. Must include your name and e-mail or have a open to the public blog.
I'll do the drawing Monday morning!

5 months to go Counting!

This September 26th-28th will be my Scrapbook/Altered-Art group's 2nd year away! We are headed once again to the same location for a weekend retreat! It is hosted by Croppin Away
and stationed at the beautiful and relaxing La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs!
~Last year it was 7 of us and this year there might be close to 11 or 12!
...Please feel free to click on a photo for better detail! ...
We all took way to much stuff last year, being a first retreat for most of us, so taking notes from some of the seasoned retreat girls and hopefully benefiting from my "Craft Space Challenge"
I hope to have my page lay outs and craft projects better organized! Yes, that was my retreat craft space above. I'm a stickler on good lighting when I work, so I brought my own lamp, a chair cushion for me and a friend and my Cricut. This year I plan to bring a mini fan to cool me off and help dry projects, and a CD walk man as well ( yes I still have one!).
To cut down on room cost, we try to put at least 3 people, or 4 in each room. All meals are provided . we get our own 6"table for 24/7 crafting fun!

Betcha didn't know
Reina over at Oswanny Designs tagged me for 6 odd quirks about me!1. I get stage fright if asked to act, even if it's one on one, but I'm a pro in reading stories with different voices to children!
2. I love facials, they are so relaxing, but since we are one income family, I being the SAHM, I'll somethimes close my eyes when I massage my face. It's the next best thing.
3. Like Reina, I'll check the expire dates on foods and breads, and even if a box of crackers looks worn, I'll reach in the back for a new one. If I can't find the expire date, I won't buy it.
4. Same with magazines. I'll browse through one at the store, then grab a "un-touched" one to take home. Go figure.
5. When I was younger, I used to collect Bouncy Balls , I used to fantasize winning the lottery and a delivery truck would come and deliver a carport full of them. To this day, when I find one, I can't help my self but to bounce it as hard as I can and feel that giggeling joy as it soars far far away!
6. I'm a fanatic with having my lip balm. I always have one in my pocket, ( now it's the cherry flavored Carmax one which taste really good after eating chocolate covered almonds) I've been know to turn the car around if I forgot it. The thought of going a whole day with out something
on lips will get me into a panic.
