Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop Week 1 : Vintage Inspired Christmas House!

Greetings!
My name is Michelle Cummings and I'm extremely excited and honored
to once again be apart of another Sizzix Blog Hop!
This time around, 60 artist's will be sharing their creativity
with dies designed by:
Eileen Hull, Karen Burniston, and Brenda Pinnick!

The premise of this Blog Hop is to inspire YOU!
Every Thursday...for 7 weeks,
One die will be interpreted 60 different ways!
Exciting! Isn't it? :)

Featured this week:
Sizzix Scoreboards Pro Die- House, 3D, by Eileen Hull

With Christmas soon upon us, I thought it would be perfect to make my own
Vintage Inspired Christmas House!Supplies used:
Sizzix Scoreboards Pro Die 656836 - House, 3D, by Eileen Hull
Sizzix 12x12 mat board, white
Sizzix Big Shot Pro die cutting machine

Fiskars Threading Water border punch
Generic glittered scrapbook paper, pink & aqua
Tacky Glue
6 silver brads
Ranger Stickles in pink, aqua, silver and crystal.
Colored iridescent cellophane
1 flickering (battery operated) tea light

What I especially love about this particular die, is it's versatility.
The die leaves you room to think "out side" the box.
You can cut more windows,
add extra house additions,
make a home, store, haunted house or even a whole village!
To create the roof "shingles" I used the border punch and layered each piece,
starting from the bottom, working my way up.
To leave room for corrections, I made the layers longer than the roof.
Then once everything was glued securely, I trimmed off the excess.
The stickles came in handy to cover up missed white spots or exposed house seams.

I glued 3 layers of the cellophane to the inside windows.
This helped enhance the candlelight effect from the flickering tea light.
All in all I'm really happy with how my little house turned out
and I hope I've inspired you to make one of your own!
