Ornamental Rings with Jewelry Clay

So this month some craft designers and I have joined up with Enviro Tex to show you some creative things you can make with resin, and jewelry clay.

I am in-love with this Jewelry Clay!
It starts of soft and air dries to a nice hard finish. Easy enough to do in 1 day!
The package comes with a two part clay component to and gloves.
Additional tools I recommend are:
  • Better fitting gloves for mixing the clay.
  • Baby Powder for coating your gloves so the clay does not stick.
  •  A plastic picnic knife to portion equal amounts of "A" and "B" for mixing.
  •  Floral or styrofoam to hold the ring upright later.

For the Easter ring I used the following:
  • A deep bezel ring
  • Little chick trinket
  • Small colorful rhinestones
  • Fine green glitter and a paintbrush.
  1. .Mix equal amounts of A and B until uniform in color. Roll in the palm of your gloved hands and then place into the ring. Add chick to center and gently push down.
  2.   Add rhinestones around the chick, gently pushing them slightly into the clay.
  3. Dust exposed areas with generous amounts of the green glitter.
  4. Place ring upright in foam and leave to to cure over night.
Now you have a adorable ring to wear in the springtime!

After seeing this past ETI ring tutorial, it inspired me to search for mini tea cups.  So I sifted through my Faerie Garden miniatures and found something just right. I added the miniature key to give the whole ensemble a quaint Alice in Wonderland feel.

I placed the mixed clay into the ring bezel, then I pressed down the saucer briefly. This way I could see where to dust the clay with glitter. Then I re-pressed the saucer into place, added a small bit of clay onto the bottom of the tea cup and pressed onto the saucer.  Later after everything had cured, I affixed the key with some adhesive.

I had recently posted a crystal ring tutorial this year using e6000. But I have to tell you that the Jewelry Clay works so much better!
The clay held the crystals in place easier as I worked.
Before setting in foam to cure I dusted the exposed clay with iridescent dust.
So there are 3 crazy fun rings you can make with Enviro Tex Jewelry Clay! Now for the best part....Enviro Tex is offering the items you see below in a amazing giveaway! You can enter for a chance to win here.
When you are done entering, check out more Jewelry Clay and Resin idea's here!
Good Luck!

Remember, It's Easter. Even if it looks like a Chocolate covered raisen, it might not be.

Hope you enjoy that little reminder and the free clip art!

I'm looking forward to enjoying good food with Family and watching Dyllan and his cousins have a Easter Egg hunt.

~Monday Dyllan and I will be in Borrego Springs, CA visiting my Mom till Thursday to see the Spring blooming wild flowers and to visit "The Living Desert" in Palm Desert.

I can't wait to share our Spring break activities with you when we get back and I can't wait to see what you all have done as well!
Have a wonderful Easter!

My Garden Knows Best

I'm going to listen
to my garden
a little bit

tomorrow

to 'slow' down
and be well.

I've been doing too much,...
too fast.

Hurry
hurry
hurry.

Forgetting to eat,
even drink-
to the point
of
becoming sick to my stomach today.

Spring is nearly here!
in my garden!
The faeries
leave evidence of their play...

I too,
will take some time
to prune a little,
sweep a little...
water the dry
and
fluff the damp.

Feeling renewed
(I hope)

I'll do
a little Spring cleaning
inside,
(opening the windows)
letting the stale air out...
and
the fresh air IN.
I may start
folding,
putting away,
sorting,
making space
to create anew.

I
will
take
my
time.
and some Tea.
even a cupcake will do.

I will take my time
to be well.

For Spring
is
coming!
And
my Garden
Knows Best.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Today at the post office, while Dyllan was looking for "Wish Faerie's" (dandelion puffs to blow...)
I happened to find a a huge four leaf clover! I took a photo of it and quickly put in between the pages of my cars owner book till I got home to properly press it.
I promise to post it later this week.
I'm so excited! It was quite the accidental find!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A Sweet Celebration

Here's Dyllan talking to Grandma Mary-Helen, (my Mom) about all the things he did on Easter.

...a fantastic egg hunt and a basket of goodies...

...treats for Daddy and some for us...

...a beautiful spring centerpiece from my Mom, and a new Star Wars lego ship to build...

...a yummy picnic/egg hunt at the park with friends!
In the above picture, Melody (on the left) from Iran made a delicious potato egg salad in the shape of a bunny! Priscilla on the right hosted the party, she's from Brazil. When we have picnic play dates with the two of them bringing food, I rarely have room for dinner! Our boys play together often and they are such nice friends to have.
I don't know if you noticed...I got my hair cut. 16 inches off! It was so long, and my hair grows so fast. I have not updated my blog profile photo yet cause I have not had time to take a acceptable picture.
I promise to, this weekend at a all day charity crop, complete with one of my new Tiara's!
