Beachy Decor with DCC and Gwen Studios

Seaglass Collecting bags

 Now that it’s summer and I’m on break until school starts up again, I have time to finally finish my Seaglass collecting bags!



These are my “Mermaid” series.
They each have a front pocket for small treasures and a adjustable strap.
Once done, I’ll have 10 available for purchase. 💕

Painted Beach Sign


 Here's a easy project to get you in the mood for a day at the beach! 


You will need:



  • Joy® Iron-on embroidered white, dyeable letters
  • A wooden sign
  • Rope
  • A large starfish
  • Acrylic pain in white, brown, blues and blue-greens.
  • Assorted dry brushes
  • Hot glue gun

    How to use Mod Podge Ultra Spray with Sea Glass

    Hello everyone! 
    I'm participating in a blog hop for Plaid® using a brand new product called 
    I used it to create this sea glass wall art.
    Enjoy!

    For this project, you will need the following:

    1. Mod Podge Ultra - Matte
    2. Assorted sizes of white sea glass, plus one blue piece for the 'eye'. 
    3. A sketch of your sea horse plus a frame with glass to fit.
    4. Parchment paper (to protect your work surface).
    5. 4 drink bottle caps
    6. Fine iridescent glitter
    7. White washi tape
    8. Twine for hanging.
    9. Wet and dry paper towels

    This Way to The Beach Sign

    I don't know about you, but I love the beach! I'm fortunate to live close enough to visit often. The shells and sea glass used in this project are from my many walks along the shore. 
    Enjoy!


    Supplies:
    1. Joy® iron-on letters.
    2. Thin canvas panel or thick cardboard.
    3. White gesso.
    4. Acrylic paint in blues and light browns.
    5. Foam brush and dry bristle brush.
    6. Pencil, scissors, hot glue gun and heavy duty hole punch.
    7. White twine and wire for wrapping.
    8. Assorted sea shells and sea glass.
    9. Large bleached starfish.

    A Day at The Beach with Deflecto Craft!

     Hooray!
     One more week and School is out! 
    That means it's time to head to the beach!
    Here I have decorated, a Deflecto Tri-Fold Acrylic frame-
    with all sorts of beach inspired tid-bits, ready to show off a perfect summer day!
    Materials:
    • 1 Tri-fold 4"x6" Acrylic frame by Deflecto Craft.
    • Solid colored card stock.
    • Patterned card stock.
    • 150 grade sandpaper.
    • Printed beach inspired clip art.
    • Metallic washi tape.
    • Metallic gel pens.
    • Chunky glitter
    • Sequins.
    • Scissors.
    • Clear adhesive.
    • Foam tape.  
    Instructions:
    1. Cut the colored card stock for each panel to be 4"x6".
    2. Cut the patterned paper for each panel to be 3 ½"x 5 ½".
    3. Tear just the top with your fingers, glue to colored card stock.
    4. Cut the sandpaper to be 1 ½" x 4", tear top with fingers.
    5. Glue sandpaper to the bottom of each card. Place something heavy on top of sandpaper to hold it down as the glue dries.
    6. Adhere a strip of washi tape to the left side of each card.
    7. Attach clip art with adhesive or foam tape.
    8. Leave room for beach photos.
    9. Accent clip art and card edges with metallic pens.
    10. Use clear glue to attach chunky glitter and sequins.
    11. Let cards completely dry before inserting into frame panels.
